Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

In honor of Breast Cancer awareness month, this past Sunday my mother and I participated in the annual "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk. Even though I was very sick these past few days I knew I couldn't miss this event. My mom and I have a very close friend who recently had her own battle with breast cancer .(This one is for you <3). Families, friends, companies, and even doggies walked for the cure. This was a very special event for each and every one of us. I was just amazed to see how man people attended. Over 5,000 people walked for this event and over $300,000 raised. AMAZING. So many men and women are diagnosed each year with breast cancer, so to see so much support this past Sunday was remarkable. Every penny counts and every step against this killer makes a difference. Take that step and participate to make a difference next year.

Birthday Presents

My best friend is the absolute best. On my birthday I found this surprise on my desk. Presents and breakfast. ( what more could a girl ask for huh ??) He's probably the most detailed and thoughtful person I know. Every year he sticks to a theme and everything is so well presented with stickers and ribbons etc. I'm telling you the whole nine yards. I've been crazy about the "French Hen" Sweater from JCrew and he got it for me plus the matching socks!!!! I also received Alexander McQueen's " Savage Beauty" book. (from the best exhibit of all time at the MET last year, seriously if you haven't checked out this book yet its a MUST) He was/is one of my favorite designers. Ooo and I can't forget the Godiva chocolate pops. I had to get myself a little something something. I gifted myself  some nice cat-eye Prada sunglasses. My mom got me the best chunky sweaters ever. Can't wait to wear them. To sum it all up all my gifts were amazing. At 26 years old, I really don't expect anything for birthday as far as gifts are concerned. The only thing I really want each year is a nice relaxing & fun birthday. ( which most of the time something weird ends up happening.) I must say that this year it was perfect. I really really enjoyed it. From my girls taking me out to dinner to all the gifts, everything that day were nice surprises that really made my day. I just want to thank everyone who made my 1 day of the year a day to remember.

Happy Birthday To ME!!!!

What I  Wore: Michael Kors: Mary Janes, Forever 21: Blouse, Gap: Floppy Hat, Marc by Marc Jacobs: Crossbody Bag, Michele: Watch

Yesterday was my birthday and I had such a great day. I was surrounded with such great positivity. I got some amazing goodies which I'll share in the next post. Here are a couple of pictures of what I wore on my special day. Its crazy how time flies. I can't believe I'm already 26. As each birthday passes I hope that I gain more wisdom so that I could set myself on the right path to my bright future and become stronger (both mentally and psychically), so that one day I develop into woman I have always envisioned myself to be.

Ooo and here's a pic of me at dinner ( my girls took me out ) <3 them. Once again girls thanks for making my night special and memorable.

Coney Island

This past Saturday my friend and I decided  on a last minute trip to Coney Island. Neither of us had been there before so we knew it was something we had to do on our day off. It was exciting to see how old this place was. I loved all the boardwalk goodies (hotdogs, pretzels, cotton candy, candy apples, and fried everything! Oreos, fish and chips, zeppoles mmmmm). I'm a kid at heart so this was the place for me. I adore arcade games and thrill rides so my eyes lit up the moment we got here. We went on the ferris wheel and this other crazy ride called "The Zenobio" ( if you're into rides like me check this out on YouTube; ITS INSANE) I <3 it. I had a dance off with my friend with Dance Dance Revolution (or something super similar to it). I think I must have lost 5lbs on that thing lol ( we danced to over 8 songs). I sweated like crazy. We enjoyed ourselves just like kids.

Afterwards we stopped by Union Square where I spotted a nice little street market. Lots of delicious little goodies going on there. More candy apples, corn, food and let me not forget the crazy obsession with scarves lol. It was as if every other tent here had scarves. ( the same ones over and over again lol)

What I Wore:    H&M: Bow Tank, Forever 21: Skater Skirt, Urban Outfitters: Cardigan Betsey Johnson: Oxford Shoes, Knee Highs & Vintage Purse ( do you see me obsession now ..hmmm ?? <3), Michael Kors: Watch, Perry Ellis: Men's Stretch belt (perfect black belt, I use it for everything.)

Hope you guys did something that brings a smile to your face this weekend. Enjoy!

After Work Highline

What I Wore: Calvin Klein: Pussybow Blouse, H&M: Skirt, Hue: Stockings, Banana Republic: Skinny Leopard Belt, Ivanka Trump: Leopard Belt

I had a meeting in the city on Monday, which was a good change for me since im always in the office. I loved being out and seeing all the business people running around. Let me tell you,I thought it would be smart to wear these flats instead of heels which is my normal footwear to work. NO! They hurt like hell. Blocks and blocks of speed walking and 4 trains later my feet took a beating. My outfit was comfortable. As you guys can see now, I love these types of blouses. They're cute and bring a little twist to any outfit (including paired up with blazers, which I will wear in an upcoming post).I need to invest a very very good  comfortable pair of walking flats. After work I went to the Highline Park with my friend to take some pictures of the benches, which the company I work for will do for the newest part of this park. We snapped some pics, picked up dinner and called it a day Hope everyone has a good week.
